Where it started

Howard Wurgler set out to build something larger than himself. His vision for Midwest Iron began in a garage during the early 1980s. Midwest Iron was founded years later, in 2006, as Howard's dream became a reality.

Today, Howard’s personal vision for Midwest Iron is to help set people on a path toward a positive future, to maintain a safe working environment, and to continually improve the product for clients’ needs. The growth of Midwest Iron is the sum of its clients, employees, and product.

Who we are

Midwest Iron is a nationally serving company that specializes in fabricating self-supporting bolt-on aluminum balconies, steel stairs, railings, miscellaneous metals, and GBC Safety Glow photo luminescent egress life safety systems. Pre-fabricated. Pre-assembled. Pre-engineered. Prime benefits include clear communication with all project teams, shipped complete for easy installation, and 3D shop drawing formats in CAD and BIM.
